Pampered in Hanoi Vietnam April 2014

On our last day in Hanoi we decided with another couple, Lisa and Peter, to go for a massage. Our tour leader Huong recommended a place and set it up. A taxi arrived to pick us up and took us to a small hotel, an English speaking girl was waiting on the footpath for us and paid the taxi. We were taken upstairs and had our feet washed and placed into woven slippers. Peter's feet are size 12 so he just managed to squeeze a few toes in. We each decided to have a facial and massage-2hours.

We were taken off to a curtained area, men separate to the women. Lisa and I were in a curtained alcove and my lady told me to take my clothes off. Looking around I noticed that the shear curtains were all that separated us from the reception area.  Oh well, nothing for it but to disrobe.

I enjoyed an hour facial and towards the end she slipped a mask on me that was freezing and sort of like a jelly that was thin and shaped to lay on the face.  It came out of a packet?  Whilst I luxuriated in the mask she massaged my head arms and legs, fortunately through the towl.  I thought this must be the massage, but no it was all part of the facial.

"Get up now Madame". And she draped the towel around my shoulders. "Oh well" I thought and toddled off through the curtains in my undies with the towel held tight over my chest. Oops there is Peter walking through for his facial!  Afterwards he said he didn't notice that I was disrobed (gentleman) he just noticed that my hair was sticking up like I had put my finger in the light socket.

The massage was pretty full on and several times she got up and knelt on me, and sat on my bum while she massaged my shoulders and manipulated my arms almost out of their sockets.

We all emerged looking beaten up but with a glow and serenity.  It was great and all for $50 US dollars each.
